01

Air Port - Negombo

Arrival at the Colombo International Airport. Clients will be welcomed by AYUBOWAN TOURS & TRAVELS representative and transfer to Hotel at Negombo. In the evening, tour the city of Negambo, including the fishing village and fish-collecting points.

Colombo - Yapahuwa - Anuradhapura

After breakfast leave for Anurahdapura. On the way to Anuradhapura, visit Yapahuwa rock fortress. Yapahuwa served as the capital of Sri Lanka in the latter part of the 13th century (1273-1284). Built on a huge, 90 meter high rock boulder in the style of the Sigiriya rock fortress, Yapahuwa was a palace and military stronghold against foreign invaders. In the evening go on a sightseeing tour in the ancient city Anuradhapura. From the 4th century BC, it was the capital of Sri Lanka until the beginning of the 11th century AD. The ancient city, considered sacred to the Buddhist world, is today surrounded by monasteries covering an area of over sixteen square miles (40 km²). Anuradhapura is a City of archaeological and historical interest including Isurumuniya – the first temple to be built in the island, Sri Maha Bodhi Tree- with an authenticated history of more than 2300 years which has been planted from a sapling from the original tree under which Buddha attained enlightenment, Ruwanveliseya – the largest stupa in the island, Jethawanaramaya and Abhayagiriya – which in their original form have been equivalent in size to the Great Pyramids in Giza and have thus been declared as World Heritage Sites , Twin Ponds, Thuparamaya- the first Stupa to be built in Sri Lanka enshrining the left collar bone of the Buddha, the Samadhi Statue – meditating posture.

Anuradhapura - Mihinthale - Avkana - Trincomalee

After breakfast leave for Trincomalee. En-route visit Mihinthale and Avkana temple. Evening relax on the beach.

Trincomalee

After breakfast, city tour of Trincomalee including The Konesvaram Temple, The Dutch Fort and other interesting places. Evening relax on the beach.

Trincomalee - Polonnaruwa - Habarana - Sigiriya

After early breakfast leave for Polonnaruwa. Then do a sightseeing tour in ancient city Polonnaruwa (11th Century AD), visit the many sites of archaeological and historical interest in the Sacred City including the Grate Statue, Quadrangle, Royal Palace, Gal Viharaya, Kumara and Lotus Ponds, Thiwanka Image House and even see one of the country’s largest water reservoirs – the magnificient Parakrama Samudraya. On the way Enjoy an elephant ride in Habarana.

Sigiriya - Dambulla - Sigiriya

After breakfast, visit Sigiriya Rock Fortress. The Sigiriya was built during the reign of King Kassapa 1 (AD 477 – 495), and it is one of the seven World Heritage sites of Sri Lanka. Then visit Dambulla Cave Temple. It is the largest and best preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka. The rock towers 160 m over the surrounding plains. There are more than 80 documented caves in the surrounding. Major attractions are spread over 5 caves, which contain statues and paintings. These paintings and statues are related to Lord Buddha and his life. There are a total of 153 Buddha statues, 3 statues of Sri Lankan kings and 4 statues of god and goddess.

Sigiriya - Nalanda - Matale - Kandy

After breakfast leave for Kandy via Nalanda and Matale. First visit Gedige at Nalanda one of the remarkable archaeological sites in Sri Lanka, next enjoying the Spice garden at Matale and take part in a conducted tour to get some knowledge about the growth and use of spices in the day to day life. Evening relaxes in the hotel and late evening Cultural Show by traditional Kandyan Dancers and Drummers including a special act of fire walking.

Kandy - Pinnawala - Kandy

After breakfast leave for sightseeing tour in ancient city Polonnaruwa (11th Century AD), visit the many sites of archaeological and historical interest in the Sacred City including the Grate Statue, Quadrangle, Royal Palace, Gal Viharaya, Kumara and Lotus Ponds, Thiwanka Image House and many more. And see the one of the country’s biggest water reservoir Parakrama Samudraya.

In the evening climb to the Rock fortress Sigiriya. Sigiriya (Lion's rock) is an ancient rock fortress and palace built during the reign of King Kassapa I (AD 477 – 495). Contemporary with the paintings of Ajantha and Ellora Caves in India, highlights being the Frescoes, Mirror Wall and the Lion's Paw, and it is one of the Seven World Heritage Sites of Sri Lanka.

Kandy - Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast leave for Nuwara Eliya. On the way visit a Tea Factory and a Plantation to witness the manufacturing process of world-famous Ceylon tea, and to taste a pure unblended cup of factory fresh tea. Also pass by eye-catching views with waterfalls. In the evening, go on a city tour of Nuwara Eliya, including Victoria Park, Gregory’s Lake and the 124-year old Golf Course, which is considered to be one of Asia’s finest Golf Clubs.

Nuwara Eliya - Yala

After breakfast leave for Yala. In the evening half-day jeep safari to Yala National park, Yala National Park is the second largest and most visited national park in the island. The park covers 979 square kilometers, The Park is best known for its variety of its wild animals. It is important for the conservation of Sri Lankan elephants, aquatic birds and leopards.

Yala - Galle - Hikkaduwa

After breakfast leave for Hikkaduwa via Galle. First visit Galle fort, Galle Fort was built first by the Portuguese and modified by the Dutch during the 17th century. Even today, after 400 years of existence, it looks new and polished with reconstruction work done by Archaeological Department of Sri Lanka. There is a Cultural Museum inside the Galle fort which is in a Dutch Colonial building in Church Street.
